Rough or Rag watercolour paper is the most pronounced and enables the artist to obtain strong textural effects. The paints pigments collect in the hollows creating variations in light.
300gsm is the most versatile weight suitable for all types of watercolour. However, when applying a very wet wash the paper must first be stretched.
